Hi my name is Chris. Currently living in Lowell, Kent County. I never really grew up around guns. My mother wasn't a fan of them in the home, however my father is a Marine from back in the early 90's. I currently carry daily. The HR lady at my job told me I'm not allowed to carry on the job and so I complied while I was with her. However I deliver beer and wine to some shady areas all over the state. I do comply with all laws while on the job, but I'd rather lose my job than lose my life. My wife has her CPL as well. Ive gotten my two daughters out to the range to shoot a .22crickett, I want them knowing how to perform the basics if it were ever needed.
My mother-in-law once asked me "do you feel safer now that you carry?" My response was simply no, I dont feel safer. There will always be somebody who knows more or who can efficiently handle a gun better than I can. However I do feel prepared for whatever situation may present itself to me.
I carry because with the way our world is turning I wouldnt be able to live with myself if I were "caught with my pants down" and something happened to my family because I was naive to think that just because I follow the law that criminals will too.
As previously stated, I'm no pro with efficiency, accuracy, handling. I'm still learning and have a lot to learn! I dont have any experience with rifles however ive been looking at getting one. I just dont know where to start. My dad swears by an AR since its so similar to the M4 which saved his hide several times.
I just obtained my CPL back in March. Overall I think joining a brotherhood of like minded people with a passion for firearms such as I do would be great fit for me. My passion is still growing and to have knowledgeable people around to steer me down the right path would be beneficial to both myself As well as my family.
